Mural & Poster Commissions
Murals and posters can be fantastic ways to spread strong messaging and transform spaces so they reflect the strength of community stories. Kate’s process facilitates dialogue and idea generation in ways that guarantee that each piece of art created exudes with the spirit of the people featured.
Creative Strategy & Cultural Organizing
As an arts educator, Kate teaches strategy from the standpoint that creative tools are a power that everyone deserves to feel confident activating. Pulling together the principles of Cultural Organizing with the critical thinking of Creative Strategy breathes fun, inspiration & life into campaign work. This is life giving work that supports strong community, long term cultural shift, success beyond political goals and power building. Kate can teach short workshops, plan & execute complex art-builds in collaboration with artists and organizers or work with your team to execute longer term strategic plans.

Arts Integration Curriculum & Workshops
Every subject is more relevant and engaging when students see themselves in the story. Art is a perfect way to center personal narratives and recognize how to use art to claim power. Curriculum development can vary from 1-off classroom projects to significant intensives like murals and street installations. Kate has experience teaching k-12 & loves collaborating with art educators to dream up ways to expand the possibilities of their curriculum.
Speaking
Part of Kate’s creative process has been the work of excavating and investigating the ways in which colonization and whiteness inform her vision and can destroy creativity. This is abolition, anti-racism and important community building amongst white people committed to ending the delusion of white supremacy. Kate speaks regularly about this process and is committed to working with white people to address white socialization and how to grow toward collective liberation and solidarity by walking toward the truth of the legacy white people carry.
Portraits for Counter Narrative
Changing narratives requires producing imagery that illustrates what we know is true and are working to actualize more broadly. Portraits that clearly articulate the values of our movements and who we identify as leaders and visionaries in opposition to the systems forced upon us are part of our rise and resistance. Kate cherishes the opportunity to work with people to create portraits!
Community Workshops
Kate specializes in inventing ways for people who aren’t super confident making art, to be able to create with confidence and want to bring home what they made. She can create experiences for large scale events with hundreds of people, small community led engagements exploring a specific issue and even 1-off workshops tailored to spaces like psychiatric hospitals and prisons. The art may be posters, murals, screen printing t-shirts & totes, woodcuts, stencils, collages, giant colorings sessions and more. Generally themes center community storytelling, mental health and abolition.
